I just wanted to say “thank you” to you as well. I know how much you thanked us for helping with your move, but it’s nothing compared to what you have done for our family – Brian especially. He is a totally different person with tremendous energy now that he is fit and healthy again. I am loving cross fit. I am so happy with the strength that I have gained! I am feeling great, happy with the way my body is looking (better every day) and an added and to me most important benefit has been more psychological than anything….I feel more confident, physically capable, less tired, and optimistic about my abilities to get in shape and try new things. Although I have to admit I still sometimes have butterflies in my stomach when I pull up to the box, (what is the WOD going to be today???!!! Can I do it??!!) I am learning that many times it is mind over matter. I might not finish first, but I WILL finish! I WILL improve! I WILL be back! I should also say something about the people who work out at CFL…they are awesome! All are inspiring, whether they are conditioned athletes or newbies or somewhere in between. Some of the nicest, friendliest people I have met in the 10 years that I have lived here. And you, Kris, and Dion are wonderful supporters and coaches. I started Cross-fit a couple months ago after not going to a gym in about two years. (which shows any level can start there) I wanted to try something new, so I went there. At first, I was scared and never thought I could do what they were doing and I’m still working on getting there, but Kris and Meredith take the time to help you through… they know your limit but push you when you need to be pushed!! It’s not like a regular gym where you go and do the same boring thing every day, it is a new challenge every day and the excitement and nervousness of not knowing what the workout will be makes me want to go even more. I have been CrossFitting for one year, during which time I found a sense of mental and physical strength I never knew I had. I lost over ten pounds and decreased my body fat by 8 percent. I’ve been doing CrossFit consistently for 2 months (about 3 times per week). I’ve seen a noticeable decrease in body fat and considerable increase in my endurance. I was a recovering gym rat spending 12-15 hours per week doing resistance & cardio training. What took 6 months to achieve through traditional methods, I will achieve in half that time with CrossFit. I'm writing this in response to my results at CrossFit Lewes: When I first started I was a little skeptical, I was out of shape and only had a short time to prepare for an upcoming physical fitness test. Meredith assured me that if I gave it my all and followed the program I would be successful. Needless to say it was a difficult process the first week. Everyone’s encouragement and positive attitude help me stick with it. In two short months, I was able to past the test as well as lose 13 lbs, 3 inches in my waist and my jacket size went down 2 sizes as well. I not only was able to pass the test but it also boosted my self - confidence. The other members are fantastic to workout with, there is so much positive energy, words cannot describe. I highly recommend CrossFit Lewes to anyone wanting to make a lifestyle change. CrossFit Lewes is for everyone, if I can achieve these results, anyone can. Today I finished my second week doing the WOD and accompanying workouts...Just wanted to give you some feedback: 1. Quality of trainers: You both are gifted trainers. I am impressed with your attention to detail when demonstrating the exercises. Even better, is the one on one time you each take with all students to make sure the moves are being executed correctly. You are both great motivators as well. 2. Workouts: I love that everyone is doing the same WOD just scaled down to their individual level. This really creates the sense of community. It also gives the "Newbies" something to set as a personal goal. The variation in the workout is wonderful as well. There is always a sense of mystery(or dread...lol) before the workout is written up on the board. Finally, and most important is the economy of time. I have spent hours in other gyms and not felt nearly as fatigued after 45 minutes at crossfit. I leave each session sweaty and with a great sense of accomplishment. 3. Personal: I believe Crossfit has the perfect formula for me. 1. Small classes filled with very positive people. 2. The variety of activities. 3. The fact that you want to push yourself harder because of the positive nature of the group. 4. The shorter amount of time for a greater result. To summarize......I Love Crossfit!!!!! CrossFit for me has been in one word - amazing. I joined CrossFit Lewes last September and I will never go back to a "regular" gym. With CrossFit you get more. You get trained professional staff who coach you on proper form and how to maximize your workouts (and who do the activities along with you, too). You get a different workout each day, so you never get bored. You get results you can measure starting on day one. You get great advice, guidance and support on nutrition. But most of all, you get a community of friendly CrossFit fanatics - of all shapes, sizes and ages - who help cheer and motivate you to do one more rep, lift one more pound and push hard for one more minute. After just seven months at CrossFit, I'm in the best physical shape I have been in since I was in high school 26 years ago -- something 20+ years of slogging back and forth to a "regular" gym couldn't achieve. But my body has not been the only thing that has changed, so has my attitude on healthy living. It's such a high-energy, positive environment that it's difficult to fail and return to old habits. And it has helped me to show my son, through example, the importance of fitness, nutrition and pushing harder, faster and farther than you ever thought you could before. When I started crossfit I was skeptical of how it would be as a long term fitness plan. I wasn't sure if it was something I would stick with and I wasn't sure how much it would actually do for me. Almost a year later I can only tell you that at age 45 I am more fit than most twenty-somethings and the community setting and support of crossfit makes it not only something you like to do but something you look forward to. In less than one year I went from being a skeptic to being so convinced of the effectiveness of crossfit that I am going to become a certified trainer. Come give it a try you won't regret it!
